My DUAL ROLE
With roots in the Netherlands and Maluku, Indonesia, I've always been drawn to places where a great variety of cultures meet and mix. These spaces fuel my creative and professional spirit.
My photographic style blends the social documentary, capturing real life moments, while integrating staged elements. Whether I’m immersed in personal projects or assignments, my aim is to reveal the deeper stories behind people and places. I love sinking my teeth into things.
I feel connected with the world of teenagers in their urban environment, their experiences and their emotions. My dual role as a photographer and behavioral scientist gives me a unique look on people’s conditions. I believe that trust and respect are fundamental to the process of guiding my students and creating a revealing photographic portrait with emotional depth.
I love being surprised by the spontaneous moments and the personal connections that unfold during each shoot.
My photographic projects to date have explored my neighbourhood, Rotterdam high school life, individual portrait stories, studio portraiture, the music scene and places I’ve visited around the world.
